Stole this from smittenkitchen.com :D love her website! :)

You Wont Be Single For Long Vodka Cream Pasta

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, once around the pan in a slow stream
1 tablespoon butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 shallots, minced
1 cup vodka
1 cup chicken stock
1 can crushed tomatoes (32 ounces)
Coarse salt and pepper
16 ounces pasta, such as penne rigate
1/2 cup heavy cream
20 leaves fresh basil, shredded or torn

Heat a large skillet over moderate heat. Add oil, butter, garlic, and shallots. Gently saute shallots for 3 to 5 minutes to develop their sweetness. Add vodka to the pan, 3 turns around the pan in a steady stream will equal about 1 cup. Reduce vodka by half, this will take 2 or 3 minutes. Add chicken stock, tomatoes. Bring sauce to a bubble and reduce heat to simmer. Season with salt and pepper.

While sauce simmers, cook pasta in salted boiling water until cooked to al dente (with a bite to it). While pasta cooks, prepare your salad or other side dishes.
Stir cream into sauce. When sauce returns to a bubble, remove it from heat. Drain pasta. Toss hot pasta with sauce and basil leaves.

Belgian Brownies

Makes 14 brownies

9 ounces bittersweet chocolate (60 - 64% cacao)
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, cut into small pieces
5 eggs, beaten lightly with a fork
1 1/3 cups superfine sugar
3 tablespoons pastry flour

1. Roughly chop the chocolate into pieces. Transfer to a medium-sized bowl and add the butter. Place the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, until the two ingredients have melted. Mix well and transfer to a large bowl; set aside.

2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Sift the sugar and flour together, then stir into the chocolate. Add the eggs and mix well. Cover and let rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. The batter will thicken as it stands.

3. Line a muffin tin with cupcake papers. Spoon one-fourth cup batter into each paper-lined cup. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. The brownies will still be moist when done; they will puff up and fall slightly as they cool.

Random ~

I remember back at my uni-days me and my girls used to get sooo addicted with the photo-sticker machine.. and who knew we can find one in such small city as Lampung?? So here's my mushy2 pic with my Louis.. yep.. as you can see, he's not so fond of cam-whoring. :D LOL.

Me and louis (just want to show you my lomo, LOL)

My Roberto Cavalli stunna-shades :D *me likey!*

I really really really reallyy want to watch House Bunny, but thanks to my sucky sales, I can only go to Jakarta next weekend ... Sigh.. Hope they still have it at Pacific Place *crossing fingers*

My friend got her pre-wedding pics done by Pinardy. I love his work so much! (especially the pic above) I love dreamy pictures like these.. (which is why I got Diana Dreamer in the first place, cuz the advertisement says that you can snap dreamy pictures.. and so far there's nothing dreamy about the pics i took, sigh.. maybe I'm not good enough.. yet... still have lots to learn.. lol!)
Anyway, for more of his work, check out his site : www.pinardy.com

Cookie of the day! :D

as adapted from Marthastewart.com

I have a bar of dark cooking chocolate lying at home, and some hershey's choco chips, and some cocoa powder too.. so I browse for some cookie recipes, and I found this! I'm going to make a batch for Louis and Daddy, since both of them loves coffee so much (L)

Dark-Chocolate Cookies with Espresso

Dark-Chocolate Cookies with Espresso

Espresso powder deepens the cocoa taste of these devilishly decadent cookies, but you can omit it, if you like.

Prep: 20 minutes
Total: 35 minutes, plus cooling

Ingredients

Makes 22

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened Dutch-process cocoa (spooned and leveled)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon instant espresso powder
  • 8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, 4 ounces melted and 4 ounces coarsely chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350, with racks in upper and lower thirds. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  2. Using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; mix in vanilla. Combine espresso powder and melted chocolate; beat into butter mixture. With mixer on low, gradually add flour mixture; mix just until combined. Fold in chopped chocolate.
  3. Drop dough by two heaping tablespoons, 3 inches apart, onto two baking sheets. Bake until edges are dry, 14 to 15 minutes, rotating sheets halfway through. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. (To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature, up to 3 days.)

i love Audrey Kawasaki

http://www.audrey-kawasaki.com/

check out her website! :)
I love arts, and my favorite artists are Audrey and Fafi (www.fafi.net)
There's something different with female artists. They emphasize on intricate details and femininity. I simply can't stop browsing her site!
I would love to have one of her paintings.. But too bad most of them sold out fast :(
Sigh. I'll just have to keep checking out her website then.
Anyway, here's some of her collections for you to see. But you can browse more from her site posted above :)

Enjoy!

Lucky - Jason Mraz & Colby C.

Do you hear me,
I'm talking to you
Across the water across the deep blue ocean
Under the open sky oh my, baby I'm trying
Boy I hear you in my dreams
I feel your whisper across the sea
I keep you with me in my heart
You make it easier when life gets hard

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
Oooohhhhoohhhhohhooohhooohhooohoooh

They don't know how long it takes
Waiting for a love like this
Every time we say goodbye
I wish we had one more kiss
I'll wait for you I promise you, I will

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

And so I'm sailing through the sea
To an island where we'll meet
You'll hear the music, fell the air
I'll put a flower in your hair
Though the breezes through trees
Move so pretty you're all I see
As the world keeps spinning round
You hold me right here right now

I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend
Lucky to have been where I have been
Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love in every way
Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed
Lucky to be coming home someday

Ooohh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooooh ooooh oooh oooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

TOKIDOKI Lunetta

My first addiction on Tokidoki first started when I stroll gleefully alone at Takasimaya Singapore.
I've always liked this brand called LeSportSac. They used to carry Gwen Stefani's LAMB bags, which I love so much, and my friends got me 2 of e bags :D
So I was checking out their designs (they have various prints), and I saw this really eye-catching prints.
Its called Tokidoki :D
I start surfing online to find out about this designer, and he turned out to be such a hunk!
His name is Simone. And he's italian :D
ahh.. Italian guys who love Japanese style..

The love..

Anyhoo, he first started with LeSportSac. And then he got BIG. like.. REALLY BIG!! And then the other merchandises start coming out. The shirts, the watches, the belt buckles.

And Tokidoki does cool collaborations too!
They have one with Hello Kitty, (I will post the pics soon after this)
and the other one that I really really love is Tokidoki's collaboration with Onitsuka!!!

I'm not a big fan of sneakers, again, because they make me look short and fat.
But in this case,
ITS SLIMMING!
and its so cute too!
So I'm posting the shoes for you all to see. I got the picture from www.tokidoki-blog.com
It is told that this shoes will be available for sale starting from April 2009.
Here's a sneak preview of the Tokidoki Lunetta (the name of the shoes)

Enjoy!

Shoes Fetish - Premium Entry

i was out shopping with my girlfriends the other day. And we were raving about how we want to visit On Pedder to view their latest collections. But since I have to go back to Lampung tomorrow and work, I figure I'll do some 'research' on what to eye on when I'm going back to Jakarta at the end of the month. Afterall, end of the month = payday!!!!

I AM DEFINITELY GOING SHOPPING!!
but maybe not just for shoes. I'm loving LVs accessories and Chanel's. Was thinking of buying van cleef and arpels. but its too pricey for my wallet :S sobs...
i need to get more money..
or i need to learn how to rob shoestores and branded boutiques.
maybe me and my gals can start an Ocean Eleven kind of mobs!
With just us girls.
And we're not going to rob the banks.
We're robbing the shoestores, and of course, the jewelry stores (we ain't dumb girls y'all! lol!)
anyway,
here's some of the shoes me found online and me likey!

Tory Burch - Suede Reva Flat

Juicy Couture - Erina Ballerina

Marc Jacob - Foxy Ballerina

Nanette Lepore - Tuck me in flats

Ras - Satin Opera Skimmer

Taryn Rose - Bridger Zipper

I promise I'll post more heels pics. Its just that I'm quite fond of flats at the moment :D So do bear with me for a while. Afterall, its kind on your feet, kind on your legs, and it looks great and fashionable!
Next, accessories to go along with your shoes!
YEAY!!

check this out!!!

http://perezhilton.com/2008-10-08-hair-ties-made-of-condoms-wonderful

i got this from Perezhilton.com

its hillarious!!

Hair Ties Made Of Condoms - Wonderful!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

condom-hair-ties.jpg

Isn't it annoying when you've stretched your only hair tie to its limits, snapping and sending it flying into someone's eye? And then you're shit out of luck and your hair is in your face all day?

Well what if that happened and you discovered your hair tie was made of a condom?!

Gross!

Just such hair ties are on sale in some areas of southern China. They are bright and colorful and dirt cheap at 3 cents for a pack of 10.

Whether or not the condoms are factory reject or, even worse, used is unclear. But, consumers have unfurled the ties to discover them made of prophylactics. If they're discarded material found unfit for sale, then that means they're just crappy hair ties.

But if they're recycled used condoms then you could catch something!

Milan day # 2

Buon Giorno! Or in plain english : GOOD FRIGGIN MORNING EVERYONE!
after 12 - tiring- hours on the plane.. (well, not completely tiring though, cuz i get to SLEEP with pillows and blankets horizontally, hahahaha. ).. we've finally arrived at Malpensa, Milan :D

My first impression of Milan is : how goth! Most of the buildings that we passed through looked something like this :

doesn't it reminds you of Hunchback of Notredame? LOl. but less creepier though. Its so beautiful, i can't stop taking pictures!~

in front of the famous church at Duomo with Rafael

FYI, Duomo is one of the largest and most luxurious spot to shop at Milan. They have all the upper-class brands here. And it streches quite far away, we walked up to this street called via Montenapoleone and to Via Della Spiga, up there they have boutiques like Chanel, Hermes, and lots more. I personally don't splurge that much for branded stuffs, I like Vintage shops more, but when it comes to Italy, I know I have to get me some 'branded' stuffs.

So I ended up buying a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti flats, Salvatore Feragammo bangle, Roberto Cavalli sunnies, and a Chanel credit card holder.. Not that much compared to my roomies Maggie, (she shops like MAD btw, lol. i love her )

Ahem.

Anyway, will post the shopping finds later.
So.. where were we? Oh yeah, the Milan gothic churches.

Thats me (far left, with Andre - Honda Tendean, and Maggie - my roomie)

why is the lady at the far left holding her thing? weird...

this is Galleria Vittorio Emanuele

Tips from me :
When in Milan, SPLURGE! Or else you WILL regret it. They have a WIDE range of brands, and its a LOT cheaper than Asia. Maggie bought an LV bag which is Rp.2mil cheaper than Jakarta!
Its CRAZEEH. The shoes are cheaper, so you have to get some.
But you have to have some patience, because the shopkeeper can get a little anal when it comes to us touching the displays.

THATS RIGHT!

TOUCHING THE DISPLAYS!!!

We Asians LOVE trying on the display shoes. Its our thing. We touch in order to appreciate. Call us Kinetestics groups. We're not Audio, we're not Visual.

We LOVE TO TOUCH!

And these friggin Italians won't let us touch, let alone try the shoes.
We have to get some 'assistance'.
And when we politely agree to their 'terms',

they keep on repeating the same sentence :

Uno momento,

One moment please..
Be patient please..

It seems like they love the shoes too much, they don't want to sell it.

Humph.

Me not trying or able to try on shoes <-- SUPER PISSED OFF.

hahaha..

Am sorry, I got carried away.

Ahem, anyway, where were we?
Oh yeah, the OTHER funny thing about Italians is how they LOVE shoes SO MUCH, a lot of them take pictures of the shoes on the display!

At first I thought its just another blogger like me who takes pictures for their blogs.
But then, next to the dude, another Chinese couples snapping all the shoes on display, one by one. with an SLR Camera too!

And then I thought, oh maybe this is some Chinese Tourists who take pictures of the shoes so they can make the knock-offs at China. (a little cruel I know, but true)

I thought it stopped there. I was wrong.

then came a bunch of other people who take pictures of the shoes!!
And here I am , standing inside the store, looking at those peeps taking random pics of all the shoes and boots and stillettos and pumps and sandals. Kinda make me feel like a superstar, since the flash reflected on me.

It got me thinking for a brief second that they're the Papz and I'm Ms. Hilton.

Hahaha. Daydreaming...

Anyway, will post Day # 3 soon enough.

I think I babble long enough about shoes to put all of you to bed.

But I know that the girls will read this through 'til the end. *wink*

Shoes, Shoes and Shoeeesss!

I bought this really cute Marc Jacob Mouse Flats at Rococo, Plaza Indonesia. Although I'm not a big fan of flats (since it's unflattering for me, considering my height.. sob) but I still love this one!!

I also have a pair of giuseppe zanotti - bought it at Milan, Italy. its in this really cute shade of milky white with a big gold bow (I'm a huge fan of ribbons, bows and heart shapes, LOL)

Most of all my shoes are the one with heels. But since flats are HUGE right now, I'm switching my 'religion' from sexy stilettos, to comfy pumps. :D

It'll be such a nice change, and my boyfriend will definitely approve of it, since every time I wear my slutty heels (like 11 to 12 cm) i ended up at the same eye level with him, hahaha)

My Silver mouse flats :D

Giuseppe Zanotti Studded Ballerina - ME WANT!

Pedro Garcia Giovanna Denim - (me want one too!)

one last look on my super cute silver mouse flats *sigh in adoration*

you can get the studded ballerina and pedro garcia at chickdowntown.com
